About Airbrush Make-Up

December 7, 2007

Digital photography has become the standard in the wedding industry. With digital photography the picture quality is of the highest resolution, which means even the smallest details, are captured. A digital camera sees streaking associated with brushes and sponges, which go undetected on traditional film or to the naked eye. One unique characteristic of the airbrush is that it atomizes foundation into tiny pixels that can be layered over a person’s face. With the proper layering technique an absolutely flawless finish can be achieved that can make a persons face young and radiant in appearance. Thick, heavy feelings of foundation, no more! In fact clients tell me they need to keep checking their faces to see if they have makeup on because it feels so light.

Women of any age can benefit from an airbrush make-up application. Even men can enjoy the benefits when traditional make-up would have never been an option. Airbrush make-up is hypoallergenic, oil and alcohol free, so it is safe for even the most sensitive skin, no matter what age or condition.

The wide range of colors and the airbrush technique allow the artist to cover virtually any skin imperfection effortlessly. Bruises, birthmarks, razor burn, tan lines, Psoriasis, tattoos, scars and even freckles can be camouflaged completely or significantly improved in appearance, while still looking natural.

Since airbrush make-up is water-resistant, perspiration and tears are no longer a cosmetic problem. Simply blotting, not wiping away moisture will leave the airbrush make-up in place without a streak. Airbrush make-up will not fade or rub off on clothes, but yet can be easily washed away with soap and water.

While an airbrush system facilitates the application of a flawless appearing foundation it can also be used to apply blush, lip shades, and even eyes with the right stencils. I often use it strictly for the sole application of foundations, leaving the rest of the face to the my brushes and hand strokes that come from painting on the canvas of the clients face. It is my preference to use both my airbrush tool and regular brushes in synergy, to apply the perfect blend of foundation and makeup. Advancements in science and technology have found their way into the makeup artist’s life, which enhances our techniques, and helps YOU be more beautiful!
