Prevention is Better Than a Cure

I’ve been testing 2 new anti aging products form Nutra Luxe MD: “Vitamin C Complex”, and “Intensive face lift.” An interesting fact about this company is that unlike most skincare company they do not use PARABENS as preservative, which has been linked to breast cancer in recent studies. The other factor that drew me to the line was the impressive ingredients list and innovative formulation called micro-encapsulation.

Since it is a pretty long post I will review today Vitamin C complex and will leave “intensive face lift” for another time. Read on my lovelies it’s worth it.

Let’s begin with the ingredients. After doing a bit of research I realized the only vitamin C the body recognize is L-ascorbic acid. The challenge with this pure and active form of vitamin C is that it is very hard to stabilize. For that reason many skincare product use vitamin C Esther or L-ascorbic Palmitate instead, which are fatty acids the body does not recognize and therefore does not absorb. I truly had no idea!

By combining 15% pure an active L-ascorbic acid with 4 vitamin E and using an encapsulation process “Vitamin C Complex”, represents the strongest natural oxidant. It helps eliminate free radical damage and protects from future damaging environmental factor. Fine lines and wrinkles will diminish and the collagen building power of L-ascorbic acid will help tone and firm the skin. Another great fact about L-ascorbic acid is that it will promote the collagen synthesis to boost collagen in the skin up to 400%. Nice to know.

Now the micro-encapsulation process… The what process? I had to look it up. The definition given by Wikipedia made total sense. Inside the little round beads you see in the bottle are the ingredients just talked about. Through the process of micro encapsulation these active ingredients have had their maximum potency preserved up to the moment they are applied to the skin and the capsule burst, hence their effectiveness.

I am lucky enough not to have wrinkles and can’t really comment on any wrinkles-reversal claims the company makes. But I have always been a big believer in the beneficial properties of vitamin C skincare product and also adhere to the philosophy that prevention is better than a cure. I am impressed by the product formulation and ingredients, and will continue to use it, at least until the tube is gone, in the hope to keep wrinkles away for as long as I can!
