Fatale
I have always been faithful to my beloved mascara Lancome Definicil. I do from time to time try different types and always go back to it. Then a few weeks ago a friend recommended Fatale, also by Lancome. That purchase changed everything.
The name alone, Fatale, is catchy, its tag line hugely promising. “Exceptional Volume Sculpting 3D Comb-Mascara.” I’m a skeptic by nature when cosmetics companies make such big claims, especially when once the tube opened, I am greeted by an oddly shaped, anemic brush.
I was in shock and thought I had purchased a defective. Never had I seen such a strange looking brush, which in fact isn’t a brush at all. It’s a 3 sided comb with little groove between each teeth acting as reservoir. After the first use, though, disappointment gave way to admiration and wows! Fatale was an amazing lash builder like nothing I ever used before. My lashes were longer, thick and so black.
Living in Key West is, to say the least, challenging when it comes to wearing make-up and having it stay in place and looking fresh for more than a couple of hours. Fatale has lasted entire days through intense heat and humidity with no flakes or smudge. What a great mascara for all my brides. I’m in love!
The unconventional wand does take some getting used to.
Here is are some tips from Ricardo Costales, Lancome National Makeup Artist, Southeast U.S. that I found handy:
• Apply this Mascara by placing the wand at the root of the lashes, then sweeping through with the teeth of the 3-D comb upward and outward.
• Between each tooth of the comb, there is a reservoir of product. So there’s no need to “dip” wand more than once.
• For an ultra-volume effect, comb through again to add a new layer of mascara.”
Enjoy!
