And The Political Fiasco Goes On!

I don’t think political writing has a real place in a beauty blog, but since politics, fashion, celebrity worlds and beauty seem to be for ever intertwined, I just couldn’t avoid it a little post of its own.

First, John McCain’s association of Barrack Obama with Britney and Paris as a “celebrity”.  Remember that?  Then Tyra poses as Michelle Obama in a most bizarre BAZAAR article.  Oh, and about McCain jokingly suggesting to his wife Cindy to enter as a contestant in the Miss Buffalo Chip beauty pageant?  An interesting choice given the event’s infamous debauched reputation for topless, bottomless and sexually explicit onstage antics.   I know he wasn’t serious but, WOW, we’re talking presidential candidates here!

So I wonder… was McCain’s release of the Obama “celebrity” ad a stupid move (why would it be smart to feature Paris in a campaign ad?) or an utterly brilliant way to subliminally associate Obama with possibly the worse kind of celebrities ever?
