◊ Stila Shine On Gift Of Glaze

Tuesday November 4, 2009

I’ve always wanted to give Stila Lip Glaze lipglosses a try but never really got around to it.  The other day I noticed the new Stila’s Shine On Gift Glaze at Sephora and had to get it.  I’m a huge fan in getting mini size product before purchasing the full size. The regular size Stila lip glaze sell for $22.00.  With the mini gift set I got 6 shades for $28 which averages out to be $4.67 a piece. Sweet!  The colors included 4 of their top selling colors along with two new colors (Raisin and Gumdrop):

* Grapefruit: a shimmery pink
* Apricot: a shimmery pastel peach
* Vanilla: a shimmery beige
* Brown Sugar: a shimmery golden brown
* Raisin: a shimmery golden plum
* Gumdrop: a creamy coral pink

The verdict:
As the name suggest this product is a lip glaze, only a thin layer is needed in order to achieve high color and shine.  The color is visible but sheer and has slight shimmer; the glossy effect is truly beautiful and will stay on for a while.
I’m not a fan of the taste and smell and that may be preventing me from re-purchasing.  We’ll see.
The packaging (pen like), as cute as it is, proves to be a little tricky. Click the pen once or twice and then you have to wait 2 min for the lip gloss to come through the brush. If you keep clicking because it seems like nothing is coming out, you will eventually have a big blob of gloss on the brush. The way I do it and seem to work best for me, is to click the pen twice then do my eyes and voila, the gloss is ready for application.

I love all the colors, they all look great!
