Coastal Scents Brushes
Sunday November 9, 2008
As a pro MU artist brushes mean EVERYTHING. My favorites are from M.A.C and I also own a few from Sephora that I enjoy as well. These brushes are in my opinion very well made and give me the best results.
For a while now, I’ve been reading a lot about Coastal Scents and was dubious on the quality of their brushes. Seriously, $1.50 for a brush? Hard to believe, no? I finally had to give them a try and received my order last week, which was perfect in prelude to a super busy Key West wedding weekend. Will these brushes be worthy, or worthy of an eye roll only? Read on.
These are the brushes I purchased
1- Tapered crease brush $2.49: Comparable to MAC 224 blending brush. Smaller overall does a great job in smaller creases
2- Pink deluxe oval shadow brush $1.99: This reminded me of M.A.C 227 brush which I own and always use for applying base eye shadows. This brush would also work nicely for contouring small areas.
3- Pink round crease eye brush $1.49: Awesome crease brush, picks up just the right amount of color. Although intended for the crease, I also used mine to blend my eyeshadows together.
4- Sable blending brush $2.90: Compared to M.A.C 224 this brush is nice but needs to be denser. I still prefer my M.A.C
5- Italian Badger Round Crease Brush $2.49: Overall a must have. Very similar to the pink round crease eye brush reviewed above. For some reason I need both.
6- Italian Badger blush brush $8.99: Very good powder brush too big for blush. Soft and dense.
7- White angled liner brush $2.19: This one is by far the most interesting brush I purchased. I was tempted to use it on my brides this weekend but decided to pass until I had a chance to practice on myself. There’s nothing worse then messing up an eyeliner application, trust me. I will review it this week and will keep you all posted.
I used my new brushes several time during the last few days, I am very impressed by their quality.
These brushes are definitely not just hype. Excellent for the value, I would buy them again without hesitation!
Do you ladies own any? Which one?
