New Crush: Stila Cherry Crush Lip And Cheek Stain
October 1, 2009
Happy October, Halloween is right around the corner! I need to get my act together and figure out my costume. What are you gonna be my little muchachas?
Yesterday me and my make-up bag had a major breakthrough…
My first encounter with a lip & cheek stain was about 10 years ago when one of my girlfriend introduced me to Benetint, she swore by it. Difficult to apply with its super thin/stiff brush, I found Benetint color flat and extremely boring. I walked away and never looked back.
I had been thinking about trying Stila cherry crush lip and cheek stain for a while. The name and packaging are so hard to resit aren’t they? I know, total sucker. <——– LOL!
I’m glad to have succumbed to Stila’s evil
marketing geniuses, cuz’ I luve my cherry crush.
The multi tasker
The texture of the stain is like a moisturizing gel that makes it far easier to work with than some other stains. When I apply it on my cheek using the brush, I find it streaky, the result is far better with my fingers, allowing for great blending and instant color. On my lips it’s just amazing. The application is easy, the color gorgeous and buildable. I like to apply a clear gloss over it, to make it pop a bit. The sheerness and how natural it looks, reminds me of when I was a child and used to coat my lips with my favorite lolipop.
Full O’ goodness and some
Lightly scented with a subtle flavor, cherry crush is infused with anti-oxidants, including cherry and pomegranate extracts, to moisturize and defend against the harsher elements of the atmosphere as well as the marvelous Vitamins A, C, and E for healthy skin and lips.
According to Stila’s website: “Cherry crush beautifully reacts to pH levels in your skin and creates a personalized blush and pout. It’s that perfect shade every time.” I can’t vouch for that since I’ve only tried it on myself, but what I can tell you is that the shade is perfect on my lips, very light coral pink.
Packaging
The stain is packaged in the same applicator as Stila’s Lip Glazes. A slim tube with a brush on one end and a click-turn button on the other. Turn the base of the tube and the product seeps through the bristles. I heard a lot of complaints about how much product is wasted with such applicator, personally I don’t find that necessarily true. You just have to be careful not to twist and click too much.
