Product Review — Bespoke Labs T3 Featherweight Hair Dryer

October 29, 2009

BespokeFeatherweight_mSimply put, purchasing the Bespoke T3 was like acquiring greatness.  No exaggeration.

Let me start by saying that I’m no casual participant in the blow drying world.  I style hair for a living, and blow dry my own thick locks straight daily.  That in itself is a workout!

The marketing claims for the Bespoke Labs T3 Featherweight Hair Dryer had me raised an eyebrow.

“Precious Tourmaline crystals are crushed into the dryer’s components in order to emit an overload of negative ions and far-infrared heat. While the negative ions close the cuticle layer and seal in moisture, infrared heat penetrates deep into the hair shaft to heat gently dry you hair from within. Hair is left silky, frizz free, and healthy in 60% less time.”

Marketing hoo-ha?  That’s what I thought immediately!  But after using Bespoke Labs T3  for now over a month I’ll admit, this sound-too-good-to-be-true appliance, completely lives up to its hype.

The advantage of using a bio ionic hair dryer

Ionic hair dryers cause water molecules to break down and thus evaporate more quickly, resulting in spending less time under the hot hair, which minimizes hair damage.  In addition, ionic hair dryers work to flatten and tighten the cuticles of the hair, making each hair shaft shinier and softer and increasing the overall volume of the hair.  Negatively charged ions also minimize the amount of unwanted frizz caused by static electricity.

What makes the T3 different

Unlike regular ionic dryers with coated ionic component that may eventually loose their ability to create strong negative charges, the T3’s patented breakthrough technology crushes the Tourmaline and literally bakes the gemstone into the component of its styling tools ensuring it never wears off or loses its benefits – ever.

Record drying time

To me the best part of it all is how quick and well I can get the job done.  It has cut down my blow drying time by at least 50%, and while I still have to use a flat iron for the finishing touch, frizz and static have been reduced considerably.

Featherweight and not too hot

At 13 oz the T3 feels light (almost like a toy), and I was equally surprised by the heat level and the strength of the blow, they seem so weak in comparison to the heavy duty dryers I’m accustom to.  Don’t let any of that phase you, this baby performs better than any other blow dryers I’ve ever used.

Final thoughts

While the T3 is an outstanding dryer, it is not a magic wand nor a miracle in a box.  Its bare use will not get you anywhere unless proper styling products, tools and technique are involved.  I use Puerology  Root Lifter and Shine Max with a round brush.

Although the price tag is hefty I totally recommend this dryer.  Think of it as one of those rare life changing beauty tool.  For real.  The T3 comes with a 4 year warranty.  Bespoke T3 hair dryer ($200)
