Product Review: Diamancel Foot File Blings Up Your Feet
Monday January 4, 2009
Living in Key West and wearing nothing but sandals and flip flops almost all year around, is just killer on my feet. If not WELL taking care of, mine tend to resemble those of a Cromagnon. No kiddin’. My toes look dry and flaky, and worst of all (and that is my biggest issue) my heels rock hard and cracked. When this happens, I get terribly embarrassed and want to hide them in boots. Gnarly concrete feet don’t exactly beg to be put in a pair of something really cute and strappy, do they?
I tried the old fashioned heavy duty pumice file, which gave me below than mediocre results.
I used the god awful foot blade, and after taking off a bit more than I should, I put it away for good. Then I was given by a girlfriend the Diamancel foot file (tough buffer #11 $49). This was a true **cloud-parting-angels-singing-moment** in my search of smooth feet. WOW!
Real diamond chips
Diamancel are nickel-coated flexible fiberglass files, electroplated with industrial grade diamond chips, and that ladies is what gets rid of the most resilient dry cracked skin.
Most efficient pedi tool
Quick, easy to use, and works better than any other foot smoothing tools I have ever used in my life! Even after a top notch pedicure my feet have never felt as soft as they felt after using the Diamancel for less than 10 minutes, and you know what the best part is? It doesn’t hurt AT ALL. They are 6 differents types of files. I own Callus Conqueror #20 and Tough Buffer #11. I would recommend #11. Wider more comfortable to use and super efficient at removing the driest skin.
Use on dry feet
Diamancel file must be used on dry feet or else it just won’t work.
Don’t forget to hydrate
OK so now you’re done getting rid of the reptilian skin what to do next? Wash your feet and HYDRATE them IMMEDIATLY. That will help your soft skin stays baby soft.
Maintain once a week if you can
I find that filing once a week is optimum for keeping my heels cracks free. Honestly, I rarely stay on that schedule but will grab my Diamancel as soon as I notice with footsies getting gnarly.
For best results keep it clean
Keep your file in top condition by cleaning them with soap and water and a soft brush. Rinse under running water. For maximum sanitation, soak files in antibacterial solution. The manufacturer says the file will last 5years. I’ve had mine for 3 and it still is as good as new.
Studio Marie-Pierre rating: A+
Happy Monday! How is your day coming along so far? The kids are back in school and I’m having a rather leisurely time. Trained with Leah from Stay Fit Studio and I thing I’ll go to Help Yourself for a delicious bite to eat.

Black & Decker makes a sander (no pun intended) that can keep up with my callouses.
I bet my callouses are worse than yours sista. Try #11 tough buffer and say good bye to power tools. That should have been the post title. LOL.
HAHA! You might be right! Either that, or you’re just way too callous (haha I made a funny) about your feet’s feelings! I use the Tweezerman “Pedro” foot file in the shower, and that seems to do the trick…taking care of the ball of my foot, heel, and just behind and to the side of the pinky toe…all the problem spots of the angry foot. Sometimes I get a little too liberal with the sloughing, and then my feet are too “tender” to do anything athletic. Gotta find a happy medium.
