Product Review: Nars Lip lacquer, Chelsea Girls
Friday January 22, 2010
A trip to Sephora always entails a stop by the Nars Aisle. I had been eyeing Chelsea Girls lip lacquer for sometime, but $24 for a small little pot kinda felt hard to justify.
The thing is, if you’re anything like me (a total sucker for nude lippie stuff) don’t pass her out, she’s worth it!
Packaging

I had never experienced gloss in a pot before and was a tad turn off by it. The thought of applying the lacquer with my finger totally grosses me out… EEEK! To avoid nasty germs and sticky fingers I use a retractable lip brush.
A definite plus with this type of container, to be able to get to the very last bit of product which I can never do with a tube. That’s great considering the price tag!
Between a gloss and a lipstick
LOVE the color, nude/pink/beige with satin finish, very creamy texture, not matte, and not glossy with good staying power. If you’re looking for a high gloss effect such as MAC lipglass this is not the product for you. The best way to describe Nars Lacquer would be that it is a cross between a lipstick and a gloss, it applies beautifully.
Sidenote: I was completely turned off by the lacquer’s smell, sort of a plasticky, but within literally seconds after the application the scent was completely gone. Weird but good ’cause I’m picky about scent and that could have been a deal breaker! Fo sho.
Have you tried some of Nars lip lacquers? Which one is your fave?

This is the sunscreen I was telling you about. I have bee using it on my face and neck all winter and it has definitely made a difference. Lines are diminished as well as dark spots. That’s amazing for a winter in Key West!
