KERASTASE For Superior Care à La Française

Saturday July 17, 2010

While packing for Europe I felt so overwhelmed by the amount of beauty products I had to pack  (I mean I couldn’t believe how much stuff a simple French girl like me need…  Hahaha!!!) that I decided to leave behind my beloved Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner.  I figured I’d buy something in France and save myself a little room.  The following day I marched into a salon in a mall near buy and purchased some KERASTASE goodies which had been wanting to try for a long time. KERASTASE BAIN SATIN & LAIT VITAL didn’t disappoint.

A little info first

There are 5 categories under the Kerastase name:

Nutritive – for dry and damaged hair
Resistance – for weakened or fine hair
Sensitive – for sensitive scalps but suitable for all hair types
Specifique – for problem hair and scalps (this really clears up dandruff. If you have found nothing else works I would really recommend this range)
Solaire – for all hair types exposed to the sun, sea, wind and chlorinated water

Within each categories there are a variety of shampoos, conditioners and styling products designed specifically for that type of hair.  For more info and to chose the right products visit KERASTASE website

KERASTASE BAIN SATIN

BAIN SATIN is part of  “In Style BEST BEAUTY BUYS 2010“.  This shampoo is excellent, providing a source of rich nutrition for dry hair without weighing it down.  For the record my hair is hardly processed, I only do highlights every now and then.  I thought that perhaps this shampoo would be too rich since it is made for dry, sensitised hair.  It actually worked great, my locks were shiny and soft with still lots of body.  If you have very dry hair BAIN SATIN 3 would probably be better.

KERASTASE LAIT VITAL

LAIT VITAL is an incredibly light nourishing conditioner for normal to slightly dry hair.  This product performed wonderfully on my hair and did amazing in hydrating and detangling my daughter Jasmine’s unruly and super curly tresses. Big hit.

Sidenote

Like all products KERASTASE these are very expensive.  If you have color treated hair, are married to your blow dryer and/or flat iron, and are used to paying for hair products in the Bumble & Bumble, Pureology, Moroccan Oil price range then KERASTASE line might be worth checking out.

BAIN SATIN sells for $34 on the manufacture website and for $19.99 on Amazon.  Same with LAIT VITAL $38 versus $29 on Amazon.  I totally dig Amazon.

Are they easy to find in Hawaii Larissa?

  • Larissa on July 17, 2010

There are two salons here that sell the products and they are much more expensive too! but they last a long time, so to me it’s worth it! I can also purchase online, but the shipping is a killer! might be worth it if I buy in bulk or something LOL!

Yes, I forgot everything is much more expensive over there!

I just hate that most of the European products have different formulations here or it’s crazy expensive to find the imported versions.
