Do You Use Your Fingers When Applying Eyeshadows?

I was in the gym locker room yesterday getting ready, trying my best to apply my makeup despite the awful lighting, when a young lady (who couldn’t have been more than 22) asked me if she could share the counter space.

She proceeded to grab her makeup bag and got busy.  A pretty amazing transformation was about to take place, the creation of an INTENSE smokey eye with – are you ready for this? -  HER ring finger!!!!  The preciseness in which her finger could dab, blend, and even contour her crease was straight out of the Guinness book world of record.  Who needs a brush???  Not her that’s for sure.

After witnessing this act of magic, I started to doing some research on the web…  I’ve been living under a rock apparently.  Step by step instructions as well as tutorial are available.  Imagine that!

So let me ask ladies, what is your preferred tool when applying eyeshadows?

I’ve had pretty good luck/results with a sponge-tip applicator….brushes are okay for subtlety, but you know how me & sublety don’t get along. Fingers? They’ll do in a pinch, but I need something a little more precise!

Hey Willa, I can get some serious drama with brushes. And I find there’s nothing like it for blending edges. Never really tried a sponge-tip applicator… That maybe next!
