My Experiment on Stephanie’s Hair. No Hair Pins Needed.
February 24, 2011

Remember how excited I was about the rug latch hook a few days ago? Well, I got to experiment yesterday with yet another tool.
Stephanie was kind enough to lend me her gorgeous head and let me go at it; stitching her hair up using a tapestry needle and crochet thread.

This manner of styling enables me to create very soft, romantic, organic shape, without using ANY hair pins! That’s right, THREAD AND NEEDLE ONLY!!!

Don’t be fooled by the loose feel here either. According to Stephanie, her hair stayed in place, without any worries, until she took it down well into the evening.
“I wish this would have been my hair on my wedding day!” Said Stephanie with a beaming style as she left the studio.
Thank you Stephanie!

Impressive! Who knew!
Tapestry needle and crochet thread only!!!! Thrilling if you ask me.
Marie!! this is amazing and unlike anything i’ve ever seen you are truly amazing and i cant wait to be there a month from today to have you fix my hair and make up for my wedding!!! great work!!!
Thank you Lashea! Looking forward to doing your hair and makeup.
Very cool Marie-Pierre. How did you do that???
Veronica! practice make everything perfect! I learned this recently and thought it would be so great for my brides.
Great!! Wish I had that head of hair!
Thank you Susan. And I know!
I am def going to have to have you try that on me because pins are a nightmare with my curls
Hannah! This would would be great on your hair as this method works best on textured hair such a curls. For Stephanie who has very straight hair, I created pin curls all over her head that I loosely released and combed out. For this style I didn’t want perfect barrel curls. Then I stitched it all into place. We were pretty stoked.
I have super thick hair and could not believe that thread was the only thing holding it all together. Impressed beyond belief, perfect beach wedding hair.
Beautiful style! I love it
Thank you Patty!
