Product Review: Mac Paint Pot

A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.
Here’s the lowdown
- Goes on creamy but once dry the paint is non transferable, completely waterproof, creaseless, won’t cake. True and tried.
- They rock as primer! A thin layer of one of the light neutral will make your shadow last all day and even make them pop. God sent in the South Florida heat.
- Unlike eyeshadows there’s no fall out to clean up. Imagine how nice when doing a smokey eye!
- You will need to work fast as they dry quickly. And once they’re dry you might as well forget about blending. If this happens, like it did to me, use a Q-tips and rub it along the edges to soften.
- You can use your finger to apply and blend. I use my Mac 217 brush. I swirl the tip in my pot, then swirl it on the back of my hand to remove 70% of the product. Then I use it use on my lid. Works great that way but I hear fingers are good too.

I am head over hill over MAC Paint Pots ($16.50) — Hot and heavy into it. Ha! I use them often, either when doing a smokey eyes or as primer with the lighter shades. With a variety of colors and textures the Paint Pots offer endless possibilities. Have you tried?
Have a lovely day!

I love the “painterly” paintpot! I use it everyday as a primer! I haven’t tried the colored ones but I would love to try them out!
