Product Review: Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge
Bobbie Brown Pot Rouge (.38 fl.oz/11ml $24.00) is a versatile highly pigmented cream color meant to be used on both lips and cheeks. It’s super creamy and blends effortlessly on the cheeks. My preferred method of application is with my Mac 188 duo fiber face brush but fingers or a sponge will work too. I find Pot Rouge more forgiving to apply than makeup forever HD Microfinish Blush. They do not dry as fast hence the blending properties.
The staying power of Pot Rouge is excellent. I applied it at 10am, it lasted until about 4pm. By then it was significantly faded, but hey it’s Key West in August with 90 percent humidity. So I think that’s really good!
I did try Pot Rouge on my lips. In my opinion the only way it looks good is applied very thinly so that it looks like a stain rather than a lipstick. It’s a tad drying. Nothing a touch of gloss can’t fix.
I should also mention Pot Rouge is fragranced. Although the scent didn’t bother on my cheeks, I could do without on my lips. But then again I’m real touch when it come to smell. Ha!
Calypso Coral
Bright pinkish-coral is one of the newest shades and looks great on most skin. It’s one of my fave. I was a little scared it would look too orange on me. Fear not! It looks very natural and summery.
Powder Pink
Creamy rosy pink. Looks a lot brighter in the pot than on.
Pale Pink
Cool toned blue base pink. Looks great on both warm and cool skin tone. I love this one as well.
The hype on Pot Rouge is justified. I’m very happy about my purchase and highly recommend them.
