Taped Hair Extensions Before After Photos

March 12, 2013

I have been doing hair extensions on my clients for the last 10 years and love them. So when brides ask me what I think of them and whether or not they should consider them my answer is an unequivocal YES. If you want gorgeous tresses with lots of body and the perfect length to suit your taste, then extensions are for you!

Up until now I was offering the  bonded extensions, which are really great, but costly and bear a lengthy 6 hours application. Or I directed my bride towards clip ons, which you take off every night before going to bed.

Today I wanted to introduce taped hair extensions

These are human hair, adhesive weft extensions that are applied without the need for tools or heat in an hour or less.  Simple…. fast…. and extraordinary these extensions are so fab!

Uniquely designed to lay completely seamless and undetectable in the hair. Manufactured with amazing quality human remy hair with the cuticle intact allows hair to be reapplied up to 3 times, while still looking and feeling amazing. You will get 8 to 10 weeks of wear from each application. It’s revolutionary. Truly.

These extensions are best way to provide volume, length, highlights and gorgeous color in a fast affordable way.

Before after pic… Wow!

Kristie’s Hair & Makeup | Key West Destination Wedding

November 4, 2011

Kristie arrived at the studio for hair and makeup on a rainy Saturday.  Rain or shine, nothing was going to take her contagious smile and incredible attitude away.  She was ready to get gorgeous and going down the aisle! I was so excited for her. I’m always excited for my bride.

She had brought in some clip on hair extensions to add length and body to her hair. She opted for the ever, so popular soft and beachy chignon. Love the hair piece!

For her makeup the obvious focus was her phenomenal eyes and flawless skin. Light airbrush foundation, rosy blush and slight contouring. On her eyes I used a combo of mauves and pink eyeshadows. Gel eyeliner on the top and a chocolate brown liner on the bottom, applied lightly just enough to frame her eyes. Light nude pink for the lips with a clear gloss on top.

Kristie ended up getting dressed at the studio which I loved. Simply ravishing, I was completely taken by her natural beauty and grace.

Congratulations Kristie and Cory,  wishing you nothing but a lifetime of happiness!!!! And Kristie, I would love to see you pro photos.xo

Peacok Feathers in Jessica’s Hair

May 31, 2011

You know how I feel about hair accessories. They’re a must. Flowers, antiques brooch, vintage clips, modern clips, pearls, rhinestone and don’t even get me started on feathers!  Check out Jessica peacock feather hair clip bought on Estsy.com. Gorgeous!

Jessica’s big day was just last weekend.  We had met for her trial back in December and had lots of fun playing hair and makeup.

As you can see, she has a massive amount a beautiful hair, which always makes my job easier.  She asked to duplicate what we had done for her trial.  Volume and texture on the top with an intertwined, curly chignon, at the base of her neck.  The veil was secured under the chignon and her clip fastened to the side.  You can’t go wrong with hair like that!

My intention was to also show you Jessica’s makeup.  But let’s be honest here, as much as I like to own an expensive camera, I’m no photographer.  I just get lucky.  Sometimes. Ha!

This time luck wasn’t on my side.  I completely screwed up Jessica’s photos from the front (the lighting really sucked and I didn’t even noticed) so you get to see Jenny’s makeup instead.  And since they’re identical twins and opted for very similar makeup, it’s kinda of like looking at Jessica anyway. Wink

As always I airbrushed the foundation.  I bronzed and highlighted her skin and applied a peachy pink blush.  Her eyes were smokey and created with my venerated Urban Decay Naked Palette.  Black eyeliner and false eyelashes were added for more glam.  The lips were done with a mac prolong wear, shimmery, neutral pink.

Loved meeting you both. And Jessica congratulations, you were a stunning brides. THANK YOU for the sweet review!!!!XO

Hey Gorgeous, Are Those Feathers In you Hair!

May 25, 2011

I’ve always been a huge fan of feather hair accessories.  So imagine my delight when I got my hands on feather hair extensions. I got so freakin’ excited!!!

Feathers hair extensions are SOOOOO *HOT* right now.  And a great way to add style, texture, and sass to your do!

The process is quick, easy and long lasting.  Our high quality feather hair extensions last for up to four months.  And yes, you can still wash, blow-dry, brush, straighten and curl your locks.  They easily attach to your hair using micro beads.  Once they slip out, out of you hair save them and have them reapplied.

Each of our feather hair products is made from real feathers of farm-raised roosters that are meticulously hand-selected and sorted. All feathers are 100% natural and organically dyed to create fun and exciting colors. All of our feathers are one-of-a-kind and are approximately 7-12″ in length.

Feather can be really bold and hot…

…or simple and natural

The choice is yours.  Personally, I tend to believe less is more but feel free to be creative. The possibilities and fun are endless.

I luv my feathers!

My daughter Serena sporting some grizzly hot pink and white.  All the little girls in her class want them! The moms too. Wink

And here’s Amanda!

You can get feather hair extensions online, although due to the high demand supply are limited, and apply them yourself. OR you can contact the studio and let us make you gorgeous.  Call: 305.433.0064 or email: info@studiomariepierre.com

I want to be a plume in my next life.

The Many Ways To The Gorgeous Half Up Half Down…

May 16, 2011

There are many ways to look glam on your wedding day.  False eyelashes, smokey eyes, divine gowns, fab shoes and of course THE HAIR!

One of the most romantic and requested hair styles I’ve seen over the years is partially put up hair, or most commonly called “half up half down”. The styling possibilities in this manner are endless.

One thing is for sure… The more hair you have the better it will look. Smile

Here are 3 brides that I recently styled all sporting the half up half down do.

Melinda

Melinda was a cruiseship bride getting married in Key West early morning just a few weeks ago.

She wanted a style that would enable her to wear her gorgeous, incredibly shiny hair down, while pulled back enough so that it wouldn’t be in her face.

After curling her entire head with a large barrel curling iron I took 3 large sections that I braided using a rope braid method. The sections were then secured in place with bobby pins.  Melinda’s hairpins look perfect!

Katy

That red hair is just beautiful!  Katy was looking for her hair to be loosely pulled back with beachy waves…

To create the waves I used my flat iron making S curls pattern all over the head.  Then, with a shiny pomade I run my finger through Katy’s hair to give it a bohemian feel.  Small amount of hair was gathered at the back of her head and secured with bobby pins.

Emily

Emily also wanted to wear her hair half up half down.  She had brought in clip-ons hair extensions to make fullness and length happen.

After placing and securing the clip-ons hair extensions, I curled Emily’s hair using a medium size curling iron and alternated the curls direction.  I slightly teased the hair at the crown area for a little volume, and gathered sections of hair at the back that I slightly pushed up before pinning down.

Voila!

Which one of these 3 is your fave?

Key West Destination Brides – Nicole & Kim Hair & Makeup

April 9, 2011

We are full out in wedding season! Yahoo! That means extremely busy week and superdupper busy weekend. It’s fun. We love it.

Before I go today I wanted to share a few photos of a couple of brides who got married last week.

Here’s Nicole who celebrated her wedding on beautiful Sunset Key in Key West.  Nicole requested a beachy look. She wanted loose wave (no ringlets!) and and makeup that would enhance her eyes.

I airbrushed her foundation and highlights. For her eyes I and used peachy pink and brown shades as well as false eyelashes.  A gorgeous fresh flower on the side finished the look perfectly.  Nicole’s eyes were incredible!

And here’s Kim who came to get ready at the studio last Monday.  She had clip on hair extensions to get lots of lengths and volume and wanted a side pony with height on the top. LOVE!

Airbrushed foundation. Medium smokey eye.  False eyelashes.

Congrats you two!  It was so wonderful to meet you.

Kristen’s Hair and Makeup For Her Key West Wedding

March 7, 2011

Kristen an Tommy tied the knot last Sunday! They had been engaged for a while and everyone was so excited for them.

Being around Kristen is like being around a gorgeous sunshine.  Not only is she is pure loveliness on the inside (she’s one of the sweetest person I know), she’s also stunning.  This is my second wedding with this family.  What a treat!

Kristen was not afraid of a little glam. We decided to go with a strong smokey eye using deep purple to emphasize her strikingly beautiful eyes, and false eyelashes.  I airbrushed the foundation and kept it light and dewy. Her blush was a simple blend of 3 shades that included a bronzer and a highlighter. The lips were soft and neutral using Mac latest Lady Gaga.

For Kristen’s hair we decided to add clip on hair extensions. She had plenty of length just needed a tad more volume. Hair extensions are a great way to make curls last longer too, as the natural hair will intertwine with the extensions making the curls longer lasting.

Kristen had chosen to wear a birdcage veil and wanted to also incorporate a gorgeous clip.  After playing with the placement for a bit we found the perfect place for it.  She is so beautiful!

Thank you Kristen for letting Amanda and I be a part of your day! Wishing you and Tommy a lifetime of happiness! Heart
