The things we do to be and feel beautiful.
Come on, lovelies, we’ve all been there. We wear uncomfortable shoes simply because they are pretty, go through pain to get flawless skin and spend copious amount of time at the salon in exchange for luscious model hair. And it’s all worth it – well, some of it at least.
If you live in places with high levels of humidity or have hair that’s prone to frizz and would do anything for shiny smooth hair, then read on. The Keratin Hair Treatment’s may just be the thing for you!
And this is how it goes
The Keratin Hair Treatment begins with a cleansing and clarifying shampoo which is used to open the cuticles. This prepares the hair for the treatment and allows for the product to penetrate each individual strand. The next step is the application of the almighty Keratin solution. During this application, the solution is diligently smothered onto every strand of hair. You’re then left for 30 minutes with a plastic cap on so that the Keratin can begin to work its magic.
Thirty minutes. You check your email on your phone. You text. You read magazines. You chit chat with the ladies. This hair is going to be magical. Good things are going to result from these three hours at the salon.
Next thing you know, it’s time for your stylist to blow dry your hair. This is agonizing, especially if you have long hair. Section by section, the stylist meticulously blow dries your hair as you anxiously await the next step. At last, the final step arrives. The flat iron comes out to seal the treatment. You and the flat iron have a love/hate relationship but you are hoping after this treatment, it’s all love! Finally, the stylist finishes straightening every strand of your locks.
Three hours later
Three hours later and you are finally done. Gorgeous and shiny hair all yours! And you can’t stop looking in the mirror. “This is awesome,” you say!
And then there is the catch. Or is it a catch 22? No washing your hair or getting hair wet for 72 hours, and in the South, this includes sweat. Awesome, a perfect excuse to not work out for the next few days! But not shampooing your hair? Oh well, it’s for a good cause – to contribute beautiful hair to the world. Another catch, absolutely no ponytails, clips, or headbands. And no wearing sunglasses or glasses. Really? Hair has to be kept completely straight. No wearing it behind the ears either. Great, half the time we don’t even realize we do this. And most important of all, to use non sodium shampoo when it was time to wash hair to preserve Keratin treatment.
Ahh, the sacrifices we, women, make in the name of beauty. But hey, when we feel beautiful on the outside, we feel beautiful on the inside too. Ask StudioJulie.
