Alright my hard-working, lovely, gorgeous ladies, here’s your mission should you choose to accept it… The finals round of our “Live Gorgeously!” Facebook Fan Photo Contest is here! Our monthly winners along with our wild card semi-finalists will have the entire month of January to complete the following task:

You’ve all submitted gorgeous, fun, and fabulous pictures… Now, it’s your chance to make a short video demonstrating exactly why you think you deserve the grand prize of FREE hair and makeup for you and your entire bridal party.

You’ll have the until March 15, 2012 to:

• Create a gorgeous video
• Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo
• Copy & paste the URL of your video in the special Final’s Round Video Tab on Facebook.
• Rally the “views and the votes”

Video Guidelines:

• Your video should be no longer than 5 minutes in length.
• Mention and/or display “Studio Marie-Pierre Key West” at least once in the course of the video.
• We’re looking for creativity. Show off your personality, where you’re from, why you love Key West, and why you’re excited for your destination wedding! Recruit your bridesmaids, your hubby-to-be, or your family for a special touch.

HOW TO WIN:

On January 31st,  new March 15, 2012 deadline, we’ll narrow down the contestants to the Top 5 Videos gathering the most votes. Our selection committee will deliberate on the Top 5 Videos and announce the winner of the overall contest. a few days after March 15, 2012. This should make one lucky couple’s very sweet day even sweeter!

Alright ladies, congratulations on making it this far and good luck on your final task. I’m so excited to see what you come up with and even more so to actually meet you all in person in 2012. Now, get to work!

Tara was a local bride that I absolutely adored.  She had her wedding on the pristine Little Palm and it was certainly a day to remember.  I met Tara, her awesome mom and MOH the morning of the wedding in their suite and spent the day making them beautiful. What a great day it was!

Tara, thank you for all the love and the gorgeous floral arrangement you mom had deliverd to the sudio. It was such an honor to be a part of your day.

Early on in the “Live Gorgeously!” Facebook Fan Photo Contest I made the promise to include a few wild card contestants in the finals round. Well, the new year is nearly here, and it’s time to reveal the four lovely ladies who will have the opportunity to compete alongside our monthly winners for the grand prize of free hair and makeup for her and her entire bridal party.

It was no easy task selecting four ladies from all of our gorgeous girls, but without further adieu… here they are!

So Christmas was absolutely amazing!  Not sure who was more excited, the girls who were jumping up and down on their bed screaming: “SANTA’S COMING, SANTA’S COMING!!!” Or me who could hardly wait to see them opening presents.  It’s such a magical time of the year and I always have a hard time letting it go. So for that reason, I decided why not continue with the joy of giving.

I still have  to wrap all my presents. Ha! Hoping to get the girls to bed early so I don’t have to wrap until 2am. That may be wishfull thinking considering the excitement. Cheers to all!

My love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with the strapless bra begun way back as a teenager, and blossom into full-time misery when I moved to Key West and found myself wearing sundresses and tank tops as a way of life.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t recall how many times I found myself hoisting up my bra as it somehow found its way down to my waist. Annoying. Uncomfortable. 

Now what would you say if I told you I just found the creme de la creme strapless bra?

Also know as “The Strapless Bra That Will Make Your Girls HAPPY”,  this lingerie gem is a little pricey ($50), but oh so worth it!

As a 34B, I consider myself pretty average when it comes to my bosom.  I do have a wide back, one would think this characteristic would help prevent slippage. Nope, not at all.  Truth be told my complaints about strapless bras doesn’t stop at the slippage. Oh no, the list goes on: too padded, not enough support, too “squeezy”. POINTLESS.

After chatting with one of my clients who couldn’t stop raving about the Wacoal 854191 ($50), a padded push-up strapless bra that comes in two shades, beige and black, I headed over nordstrom.com and placed my order.

WOW! WOW! WOW! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

First off the 854191 feels like I’m wearing a regular bra with straps. It gives my girls plenty of support and pushes them up just like a regular bra would, and it stays put! I was running and playing around with my little Serena and it didn’t move an inch. The underwire holds everything up and doesn’t cut into my sides. Nothing spills out either, the cups fit perfectly. The lace is gorgeous and not overdone.

The way it looks under clothing is as important as the way it feels and I couldn’t be happier.

Conclusion: The Wacoal 854191 is a must have.

Steph and I go way back, both involved in the Key West wedding industry for almost 10 years! So when she asked if I would do her hair and makeup for her big day I was delighted!

How adorable is this little spitfire? What a great picture! I have to say, I was impressed by Emily’s late-in-the-month sweep of November’s “Live Gorgeously!” Competition. In about three days, she racked up 120 votes winning her choice of either FREE false eyelashes or a FREE spray tan on her wedding day. She’s also entered into the finals round for her chance to win FREE hair and makeup for her and her entire bridal party.

The story of how she met Michael is just as adorable. Originally from Rochester, New York Emily moved to Chicago in the spring of 2007. One day while trying to get to the lobby in the freight elevator, the doors opened and their stood Michael who asked, “Going down?” in his British accent.

Emily was instantly smitten with Michael’s good looks and that British accent! Fate would have it that the two ran into each other in the building’s laundry room later that evening, and then a few days later on the street. Emily gathered the courage to ask the handsome Englishman out.

Four years later on a warm summer evening, Michael proposed to Emily at sunset by the lake overlooking Chicago’s city skyline. They plan to wed at the Ocean Key House Resort in Key West in November 0f 2012 where friends and family from all over the world will join them in celebration!

Congratulations Emily and Michael. I look forward to meeting you both… and Heidi the bulldog!

Heather and I spent 3 days together!  Our first meeting was at the studio for her hair/makeup trial. We met again the day of her rehearsal for a spray tan and an updo. And on the wedding day for hair/makeup/lashes. By then end I felt like I had a new friend.

Thank you for the love Heather it was an honor to be a part of your day and I wish you nothing but the very best!
