Laura Mercier created Secret Brightening Powder to set Secret Brightener, Secret Concealer, and Secret Camouflage. Formulated for all skin types, the powder contains micronized pigments that will not settle in fine lines or accentuate shadows and instantly delivers a soft, weightless finish.
Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder isn’t exactly a highlighter, nor a face powder. Its transparent white color helps brighten the under eye area while setting concealer and feels weightless but it also… SETTLED IN MY FINE LINE!!!! 
I thought perhaps I had applied too much, so I tried again the following day… same thing. To be fair I tend to avoid powder in general or use them sparingly on myself. I find their undesirable side effect, like making eye area look dry and wrinkly (especially once pass 35) very annoying.
Something else worth noting. Like most “brightening” product this powder contains some shimmer, which could spell trouble for those of us with a tendency to overdo it. Shimmer around the eye area can be tricky.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend this product as I found it to just be a glorified finish powder. I’ll happily stick to MUFE HD Invisible powder.

Fantasy Fest week is in full effect with parties and parties and more parties everywhere!!!! I really get a kick out of all the amazing costumes and airbrushed body that will be parading Duval street on this coming up Friday and Saturday. I’ll be there with my camera people watchin!!!!
For those of you who don’t know, Fantasy Fest is basically a street party held annually on the last week of October in Key West with as a highlight a parade carrying the elected Queen and King. To become the Fantasy Fest King and Queen candidates get elected in a fund raising competition to benefit AIDS Help. The King and Queen candidates who end up raising the most money during the competition period are crowned the King and Queen of Fantasy Fest in a gala ceremony. It’s so fun!

I met Susan last weekend on Sunset Key in Key West where she was getting married. Susan is a scientist currently researching new frontiers in preserving fertility for women facing a cancer diagnosis. Smart and beautiful!
Susan gave me total creative freedom. After seeing her stunning gown there was only one way to go vintage! It was so perfect.
I also wanted to share a photo of her sister Ann. She had much shorter hair, slightly pass her chin and wanted to wear it all hair up. Ann showed me several photos that pointed to a classic look. She turned out so good!
Hope you all have a fun Sunday! What are you up to? I’ll be heading to the pumpkin patch today with the girls. Only one ore week before Halloween! Do you have your costume yet? We’re all set over here… My little Jasmine, (8 years old) and I are going to be vampires, Serena (5 years old) the Little Red Riding Hood. El Genio doesn’t partake in the fun. He waits for our return and eat all the candies.

DON’T YOU JUST LOVE GLEE??? I just started watching it and I’m hooked. BIG TIME. The Brittney episode was my intro to the show. It was nothing less than awesome!!!
On another note (pun totally intended… hahaha! 
) I discovered recently Love Joy ($21), a great blush that has permanently joined my other collection of cheeky goodies. 
Part of MAC sonic chic Mineralize blush collection Love Joy is a must have!
The color is gorgeous, bronzy meet toned down pink with some shimmer. The shimmer is not at all over the top, you won’t look like a disco ball. Promise. I recommend to apply Love Joy sparingly and built as needed, the color shows up really well. Love Joy is almost like a bronzer and blush mixed together.

Last night right before going to bed I received this wonderful email from Sherry. It gave me goose bumps!
Sherry and Laramie eloped to Key West for a super romantic wedding. I had the pleasure to do Sherry’s hair twice. Once the day before the wedding when she came to get her hair highlighted, and the second on the big day. I Enjoyed our conversation and laughter and loved seeing Laramie look at Sherry with total adoration.
I loved meeting you both Sherry and Laramie and hope to see you again very soon. May your marriage be filled with sunshine

I am drinking coffee with my little Serena sitting next to me playing on my iPad. Lots of weddings on the schedule today. And it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day. No rain in the forecast. Yahoo!!!

Rimmel 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Liner is a great little product you can pick up at your local drugstore. Don’t you just love it when you get quality makeup products at the drugstore? At Walgreens, it’s inexpensive at just $3.49.
From its name, it claims it will last up to 1000 kisses. Well, I haven’t tested that theory but I can tell you it will stay put as you eat a meal. And let’s face it, that’s a huge accomplishment for a little ‘ole lip liner.
Long lasting liner prevents your lip color from smudging and bleeding and can be sharpened for smooth application. Creamy texture didn’t dry out my lips at all with excellent color pay off. It comes in five shades: Coffee Bean, Indian Pink, Tiramisu, Cherry Kiss, and Cafe Au Lait (not shown).
I like a product that is versatile. Rimmel 1000 Kisses looks great under lipstick and I can also fill my lips with it and apply a gloss on top of it. It’s very pretty. And for the $3.49 price tag, affordable too!

Tiramisu: brownish nude color with warm undertone. Blends really well with nude lipstick or gloss.
Cherry Kiss: Cool ruby red, with pinkish undertones. Slightly iridescent.
Cafe au lait (left) Indian Pink (right)
Cafe au Lait: Very deep chocolate brown that looks good on either warm or cool complexion.
Indian Pink: Fairly bright pink, cool tone. To warm it up and to tone it down a little, I used Mac Nymphette and got gorgeous golden pink.

It’s been raining hard off and on in Key West for the past few days. Fall is upon us much faster than I ever remember. Can you believe October is half way gone? Don’t laugh, but I’ve already started my Christmas shopping for Jasmine and Serena! I figure that way I won’t go overboard. El Genio is skeptical.
Jasmine has started to get some inclination that Santa may not be the man she thought he was… Perhaps more a woman called Mommy. I try to deviate the conversation when it comes up, I don’t want to spoil Serena’s fun. She ‘s only 5. Have a thrilling Thursday!!!

Here’s dazzling Kelly, a local Key West bride, who got married last weekend at the stunning Marriott Beachside Resort. Big shout out to Carina and Angela who, along with their great staff, made it all happen so beautifully.
Every conversation I had on the phone with Kelly made me want to meet her that much faster. When I arrived in her suite I wasn’t disappointed. And talk about great Mom. Loved her too!
Kelly said she didn’t wear much makeup but was totally into glaming it up, and FOR SURE wanted faux lashes. Here’s the result, flawless skin, medium smokey eyes with strong lashes and a nude lip. Look at that bridal glow!!!!
For her hair, I first placed some clipped on extensions before curling and gathering it off to the side. Very pretty starfish pins completely her look. Hair accessories are very important!
I didn’t get to meet Kyle (I never get to meet the groom. BOO!) but apparently from what I hear they’re a match made in heaven! Congratulations to the both of you. I hope your honeymoon was out of this world!!!!
