Hello, hello, my lovelies! Guess who has a new obsession over here? And it’s all Amanda’s fault! She’s been sporting Chanel Rouge Double Intensite Lip Colour ($34) and raving about how fabulous it looks and feels on her lips. Apparently, these babies won’t get gunky-peely.
“REALLY!?!” I said —>insert eye roll<—
“Don’t all the long-wear lipsticks look funky after a few hours??”
SO I HAD TO TRY THEM MYSELF!

When shopping online, it’s always hard to see what the colors will look like in person. I knew I wanted a bold red. Some of my brides looking for a classic red lip would surely appreciate a long-lasting, no fuss lipstick. I picked Alexandrite. Then, I wanted a peachy-pink for warmer skin tones and a cooler pink to accommodate the brides on a quest for a more subtle look. Might as well cover all my bases! I chose Rose Quartz and Rose Topaz.

Rose Quartz: Dusty pink
Alexandrite: Bold red brick
Rose topaz: Very similar to Rose Quartz, ever so slightly cooler
The formula

The Double Intensite Lip Colour has a dual wand–one with an intense color (base coat) and another with a clear gloss. It is intended to be a long-wearing, full-coverage formula that lasts all day.
Team CoCo wasn’t kidding about being long-wearing!
The colors lasted through several cups of coffee and a lite bite for lunch. After about five hours of wear, during which all I did was reapply the gloss, my lips looked nicely colored. And Amanda was right, the color didn’t peel or feel gunky. Very impressed. The formula has a very light and luxurious vanilla scent that dissipates quickly.
Application Tips
- Start with hydrated lips. If your lips are cracked or dry, skip it or else it won’t be a pretty sight!
- Be light-handed with the base coat. Apply a thin layer to the bottom lip and press your lips together to transfer color. This method of application helped prevent streaking.
- Let the base coat dry for at least a minute or until the tackiness goes away.
- Be light with the top coat, as well. I used the same method as the base coat. It looked pretty and not overdone.
Go buy yourself a tube. You won’t regret it!
