Product Review: MAKE UP FOREVER HD Blush

March 25, 2010

Thursday March 25, 2010

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Blush ($25.00 for 0.33 oz.) is the latest in the HD MUFE family.  I really wasn’t sure what to expect, creamy blushes are just not my thing, but I thought it’s gotta be good, it’s MAKE UP FOREVER!

Absolutely worth the moolah

The bottle is tiny and for $25 most of us would want more product.  Don’t be fooled by the size, the pigmentation of the blush is incredible and a little goes a long way.  Just to clarify, when I say a little, I mean half a pump max otherwise you’ll end up either wasting a lot of product or looking like a clown which is exactly what happened to me the first time I applied. LOL. GO EASY.

HD Blush won’t move

Amanda C. Back For Boudoir Hair & Makeup

March 22, 2010

Monday March 22, 2010

wp

Amanda came to the studio for her wedding hair and makeup and came back a couple of days later, this time to get ready for her boudoir photoshoot.  So FUN!  She wanted a strong eye and lips with a fun off to the side curly pony that she would eventually take down for her change of looks.  The straight bangs are so darling.

Love the smokey eyes, false lashes and red lips

On her cheeks, I used my new favorite MAKEUP FOREVER HD blush.

Congratualtions Amanda wishing you and your husband a lifetime of happiness. Don’t forget to come back for a visit when the little is here!

Sweet tooth the size of Africa…

…I kid you not. I’ve been quiet involved in my kitchen today (baked ziti, garlic bread for tonight) but I’m *most* looking forward to try a classic Spanish flan recipe that’s just about done.

Enough with my sweet tooth, how’s your Monday treating you so far?  Are you at work or at play?

Have a great one.

Hair: Marie-Pierre

Amanda got married just a few days ago on Smather’s Beach in Key West and what fun we had meeting her!  She came to the studio for some hair and makeup luv  , and picked a style currently featured on my website portfolio.  You can never go wrong with timeless.
Isn’t that little starfish so pretty?

I was in Miami yesterday.  Got my hair done, shopped, walked around.  I don’t know what it is with the boys and girls in Miami, but they’re all so seeeeeexy!  I love people watching, and yesterday there was a lot to watch, I had a great time.

The weekend is about to start and it is a packed one.  Gorgeous hair and makeup coming right up!  Have a great one.  See y’all later.

Tera’s Romantic Half Up Half Down

March 15, 2010

Monday March 15, 2010

Tera was one of my  bride over the weekend at the Ocean Key Resort in Key West.  Tera wanted a half up half down style, loosely pulled up back with lots of texture.  Her hairpiece was an antique brooch that complimented her hair and dress seamlessly.  I wish you could see the makeup… Earthy colors, with a rosy gold accent and long lashes.  She reminded me of a Grecian Goddess — LOVE!

A super weekend overall

In addition to a super wedding weekend, I had a super time with El Genio and the girls.
A last minute change of plan on Saturday night had us improvise on dinner and we ended up going to Tavern N Town Restaurant.  Scrumptious food, very relaxing atmosphere, the piano player was to die for.  Then on Sunday off to the carnival with my little monkeys!  I was a tad disappointed by the lack of Funnel Cake, (I mean, what’s a carnival without fried yummy dough covered with powdered sugar), but I got over it and had instead a caramel apple.

I’m heading out to run a millions of errands, catch you later!  Have a great Monday.

MAC Mulch & Patina Eyeshadows Meant To Be Together

March 10, 2010

Wednesday March 10, 2010

I’ve been completely obsessed with Mac Mulch and Patina eyeshadows. I’ve applied the duet on light, medium and dark skin; blue, green, brown and hazel eyes along with every possible hair color combo you can come up with and it looks great E.V.E.R.Y.T.I.M.E.

The shadows can be worn as a light wash over the lid when going natural or dramatically for party night. My favorite was last weekend when I applied them on a bride with very fair skin, who wanted a strong but not overdone smokey eye, the contrast was dazzling. I added false lashes (you know me and my lashes!) for added drama and let me tell you ladies, she was one gorgeous babe.

Patina

Patina: Taupe Brown with golden pearl (frost).

To me Patina has more of a light shimmer than a true frost and the delicate pearl reflect is just gorgeous.  Patina is cooler than most gold and kinda looks antique which is where I feel it’s uniqueness and versatility comes from.  Used as a light wash on the lid for a natural look it brightens up the eyes just enough.

Mulch

Mulch: red-brown with w/bronze pearl (velvet).

Haaaaaaaa Mulch I love thee!  Slightly shimmery, rich chocolate brown with red and gold undertones, ideal shade to smoke things up!  I also applied this one as an eyeliner with great success. The color is extremely build-able. I deposit with a firm brush, then use my favorite blendable brush Mac 217. Paired with Patina it’s a combination made in heaven.

… And a tutorial

Check out the video below for an example on how to use Patina and Mulch. Love FashionfaceTV!

Hair Trial, Weddings, Fantastic Weekend

March 8, 2010

Monday March 8, 2010

Here’s a photo a one of our upcoming bride who came to the studio for her hair trial.  Feathers are huge this year and I’m such fan!  Actually I’m a fan of hair accessories in general, you can’t go wrong.  One of my favorite site is haircomesthebrides.com I love browsing their endless collections, look at their portfolio and read their blog.  Check it out.

It’s Monday and I don’t know about your weekend but mine was fantastic.   First off I just love my staff, go Amanda and Shawn, everyone raved about the hair and the makeup!  Second ALL my brides were **divine**, one after the other amazing inside and out.

First thing this morning I received an email from weddingwire.com letting me know about a new REVIEW posted by Lauren a recent bride. What a great way to start the week.  THANK YOU.

Life is good, I’m so grateful for all the goodness around me.

Enjoy your Monday!
