Good morning and Happy Monday!  How was everyone’s weekend?  I woke up  feeling like I just finished a 3 day long party!

Oh, what a fun and exciting weekend we just had, with 11.11.11 was one of there busiest day ever. Congratulations to all our brides and groom.

Today I wanted to share some photos of Denise’s hair. Denise had a lot of beautiful, thick, curly hair and I just had so much fun styling it.

Wishing everyone a fantastic day! I’m going to relax today.

Product Review: HANAair Professional Hair Dryer

November 9, 2011

Good morning gorgeous how’s your day so far?  And did you sleep well last night?  I’m heading out to the Studio in a few and I’m tickled pink.  I got a new toy yesterday! HANAair professional Hair Dryer, also known as the Premiere Hair dryer. This little gem caught my eyes as soon as I read about its features.

So if you’re into shiny healthy locks, want to save time, and look fab all at the same time read on.

So what are the features you may ask?

  1. Adjustable Heat that includes: 2 Fan Speeds, 3 Heat Settings, Cold Shot
  2. Ceramic Heater with Far Infrared Ionic Heat
  3. Tourmaline, Titanium Oxide & Silver Infused. Pure Tourmaline Crystals are known to add antibacterial ions and shine.
  4. It also has a Concentrator, I call it a nozzle,to put at the end of the dryer
  5. And comes with a 2 year warranty.

My Experience with it

Right off the back I enjoyed the sleek design.  I love the speed at which it dried the hair, as well as all the setting options.  At the end of the blow out, my client’s hair was very shiny and soft.  My time was cut by about a quarter. That’s a real plus!

A couple of things I feel could be improved. The dryer’s weight —  definitely on the heavy side.  And the noise it makes, especially at full speed, it’s loud.  Making it hard to carry a conversation with my client. That may not matter so much for  someone who uses at home. Unless of course you like to talk to yourself in the mirror. :silly:

The dryer carries a hefty price tag: $194.99  but then again I always find that expensive dryers are truly the best. Overall, this is a solid buy.

Studio Marie-Pierre rating: B+

Kristie’s Hair & Makeup | Key West Destination Wedding

November 4, 2011

Kristie arrived at the studio for hair and makeup on a rainy Saturday.  Rain or shine, nothing was going to take her contagious smile and incredible attitude away.  She was ready to get gorgeous and going down the aisle! I was so excited for her. I’m always excited for my bride.

She had brought in some clip on hair extensions to add length and body to her hair. She opted for the ever, so popular soft and beachy chignon. Love the hair piece!

For her makeup the obvious focus was her phenomenal eyes and flawless skin. Light airbrush foundation, rosy blush and slight contouring. On her eyes I used a combo of mauves and pink eyeshadows. Gel eyeliner on the top and a chocolate brown liner on the bottom, applied lightly just enough to frame her eyes. Light nude pink for the lips with a clear gloss on top.

Kristie ended up getting dressed at the studio which I loved. Simply ravishing, I was completely taken by her natural beauty and grace.

Congratulations Kristie and Cory,  wishing you nothing but a lifetime of happiness!!!! And Kristie, I would love to see you pro photos.xo

Caroline Hair & Makeup | Key West Destination Wedding

October 22, 2011

I had the pleasure to style the super fun and gorgeous Caroline for her big day just a few weeks ago. With eyes like these it was bound to be a success!

I used all earthy color eyeshadows on Caroline. In the crease I added a hint of copper to bring out the blue in her eyes. Chocolate brown eyeliner and false eyelashes. The foundation was airbrushed the cheeks dusted with a light pink and a bronzer. The lips were pale shimmery pink.

Caroline has really long thick curly hair.  She wanted  her hair partially put up, and loose.  In order to polish her locks and get rid of the flyaway the rain had caused (Yes it was a rainy day!) I re-curled the hair using a medium size curling iron. I pulled up the sides and secured in place. We were both loving the way the hair looked, but…..  I could’t stop playing with it!

The hair beautiful texture and its volume kept me wanting to do more.  So I gathered the back of the hair and pulled it over to the side right above her shoulder. It looked just amazing and we knew it was just perfect.

Congratulations Caroline! Loved being a part of your day. And thank you for the love. XO

Only 3 Months Left to “Live Gorgeously!”

October 21, 2011

Hello lovelies! Can you believe it’s nearly the end of October? We have two beautiful contestants–Crissy and Heather–in this month’s“Live Gorgeously!” contest. And after October, there’s only November and December left to get into the action for a chance to win FREE Hair & Makeup for you and your entire bridal party!

Crissy & her sweetheart.

Here’s a quick reminder on how the contest works and what you have to look forward to. First of all, each month since May, you’ve voted on a monthly semi-finalist. The contestant with the most votes at the end of the month wins her choice of FREE false eyelashes or a FREE spary tan for her big day. At the end of December, we’ll have a total of eight monthly winners.

On New Years Day, I’ll be full of announcements. First of all, you’ll learn who December’s winner is! Second, I’ll reveal the four Wild Card Contestants. And finally, I’ll explain what our girls will have to do to compete in the finals round!

Heather & her hubby-to-be.

Whew! That’s a lot of work for the first day of 2012, but it’s worth it! Spread the word, if you or someone you know is planning to tie the knot in Key West after Valentine’s Day 2012, then you’re eligible to compete! Just post a picture on my Wall by the end of the year and rock the vote. Make sure your friends “like” the page so they can follow along with the contest! Good luck, lovelies!

Katie & Her Twin Sister | Fashion Photoshoot in Key West

October 19, 2011

Katie and her twin sister wanted to have some professional photos taken in Key West.  Katie wanted 3 different looks and had a very clear vision for the shoot. She contacted the Studio, and although I was unavailable, I suggested to book them with Shawn H. and Natalie.

In order to take advantage of the beautiful morning natural light, hair and makeup was scheduled to start at 4am! Everyone was game and so it went. LOVE the photos, the hair and makeup!

Thank you Ozzy Garcia for the gorgeous images and a BIG THANK YOU to Shawn and Natalie for getting up  way before sunrise on 2 consecutive days. The things we do for beauty!
