For someone like myself completely enamored with flirtatious eyelashes, the minute I heard of LashDip I knew I had to look into it further. After making a couple of calls and doing a little research, I was signed up for their certification class and off to Atlanta for a few days.  Simply put LashDip is genius.

But what is LashDip?

“The worlds most perfect coat of mascara” adds volume, increases length, provides lift, curve and separation — similar to that of traditional mascara — but won’t smudge or wash off for weeks.“ LashDip, was invented  by 2 lash experts Jessica Harley and her stylist business partner Gina Mondragon. LashDip is a semipermanent mascara that is applied onto each lash and will last up to six weeks. The process takes about 1 hour, the results are amazing: sculpted, lifted, thicker, longer top and bottom lashes that are long lasting. Shower, swim, cry (hello brides), and sweat without ever worry about raccoon eyes.

LashDip uses a 100% hypoallergenic, blacker-than-black gel substance to coat each individual lash and sculpt it into place. It won’t damage your natural lashes, and its toxin and preservative-free formula is gentle enough for contact lens wearers. What’s not to love?

The maintenance

The only maintenance is applying LashSeal, a clear gloss included with your service, once per week to extend wear and add shine.  We do advise in using an oil free eye makeup remover for eye shadows and eyeliner.

LashDip will grow out with your lashes, similar to extensions, but a LashRefresh appointment will spruce up your lashes offering longevity to the service

The cost

The cost is $135 for the top lashes and $60 for the bottom. Top and bottom together is $175 which includes a LashRefresh appointment at 2 to 3 weeks, and a complete removal after 6. We will also send you home with a LashSeal tube to keep your lashes looking great.

A wonderful, bubbly and sweet personality along with a natural beauty that shine right through her, Noelle was pure joy.  On the day of her wedding, I met  Noelle in her room at the Ocean Key Resort for hair and makeup.  The love surrounding Noelle as she was getting ready was so incredibly touching.  I loved every minute I spent with Noelle, her friends and family.

Congratulations to the sweet Shell Martin, winner of September’s “Live Gorgeously!” Facebook photo contest. She managed to rack up over 250 votes for this black and white photo of her and her sister Natalie Ann. She’s already won her choice of either a free spray tan or a free set of false eyelashes for her October 13, 2012 wedding at the Casa Marina. She’s also entered into the Finals Round to win the Grand Prize of free hair and makeup for her and her entire bridal party! By the way ladies, it’s not too late to enter. Shell and her fiance Keith met during their sophomore year in college in Philadelphia. She was a student at St. Josephs and he was at Temple. She says they had an instant connection. “As soon as I saw him,” Shell told me via email. “I told my roommate, ‘He will be my boyfriend!’” Perhaps she even knew then that one day he would also become her husband. The two have stuck together through college and growing up in their 20s, and now, nine years later they’re ready to spend the rest of their lives together.

Today, the couple lives just up the coast in St. Petersburg and they’ve made many sojourns to Key West for vacation. “We love the Old Town charm, clear blue water, and how people of all ages can have a blast in Key West,” Shell says. They fell in love with the Casa Marina Resort on their first visit, and are thrilled to have their intimate beach wedding there. They plan to have their pooch walk down the aisle in the sand as the official ring bearer. Adorable!

I think Shell and Keith’s love story is as sweet and classic as it gets! I absolutely look forward to meeting you two and to get the lovely Shell gorgeous for her big day. Congratulations!

With Fantasy Fest’s Aquatic-A-Frolic weeklong party quickly approaching on October 21, we wanted to throw our hats into the ring at Studio Marie-Pierre and showcase another side of what we can do with hair and makeup. Body painting is a long-standing tradition for the annual fest and lovely ladies abound painted as, well… their wildest fantasies–and perhaps yours too! 

Our very own Amanda has extraordinary creative talents in the art of body painting–and an eye for what’s sexy and playful. Last week she made me step outside of the box and try my hand at it, as well. We gathered the most beautiful babes on the island to be canvases in creating some exquisite works of art. I’m pretty sure you’ll agree that our models Agnes, Irina, Vera, Kseniya, Elena, and Jolanda are magnificent. Photographer Romi Burianova brought her creative eye to the project and captured some heart-stopping portraits of these beauties. Also a big thank you to Dana Burianova for jumping in last minute and helping us with her artistic touch.

We’re so girly here at Studio Marie-Pierre that we went for a lingerie and bathing suit motif, but we can create whatever your heart desires in about two hours! Since this year’s theme is Aquatic-A-Frolic, we painted gorgeous golden scales on Agnes, and we anticipate requests for mermaids, sea nymphs, and other fantastic underwater creatures. Our body painting services are available the week of Fantasy Fest from October 21-30, so let your creative juices flow and take a walk on the wild side with us. You’ll be in very capable hands!

I love talking beauty and beauty products with my clients and I’m always on the look out for new makeup goodies to add to my kit! I recently styled Ashley for her wedding. Very prepared, she had purchased ahead of time a lipliner and a gloss for touch up throughout the day. As soon as she handed to me, I LOVED  and HAD to have it.

The lip liner ($16) is part of Smashbox The NUDE Collection.  The one I  purchased, Light (soft nude), has the most perfect color. Not too warm nor too cool, it allows for the use of many other glosses or lipsticks to be layered on top.  There’s also one lighter and more pink, called Fair.  And for you darker complexion beauties, it also comes in medium and dark.

 
For Keeps (what a perfect name) is from smashbox LIMITLESS LONG WEAR LIPGLOSS.  Many, many colors to choose from but this one is simply perfect. Very light pink, just like a rose petal, it makes the lips soft looking with the right amount shine – Absolutely kissable. It has SPF 20.
 

 
I should mention that I completely dislike the wand applicator.  It’s cheap (seems like it’s going to snap in half if I press too hard), doesn’t grab enough product and I could do without the useless slanted tip.  They really need to work on it.

The formula itself is a little sticky – I always feel weird to talk about gloss stickiness though. After all, aren’t they all sticky to a certain degree??? Well, this one is light on the viscous scale. It that has a slight scent, nothing really bothersome or noticeable. The scent dissipate quickly.  In terms of wear I felt it performed well. Several hours with no problem.

So ladies and brides to be, if you’re still searching for a lovely nude lip combo with a slight punch this one might just be the right one for you.

Don’t you just love room service?

So lovelies I’m blogging from Atlanta, sitting on my bed in my hotel room waiting for room service.  Room service is just the ultimate treat to me.  Feels so luxurious to be in a plush robe waiting for some yummy food to be delivered.

It seems like I’m always bragging about how my wonderful my clients are. But they really are! Meet the lovely Shawna.

I met her on her wedding day at the beautiful Ocean Key Resort and Spa. People always ask me what is the most popular format when it comes to getting hair and makeup. Should I come to the studio or would it be better to have you come to the resort?  The later for sure.  Stay in your air conditioned room in a comfortable attire with your friends and family.  Let us worry about parking and heat!  On location services are the way to go.

Shawna wanted to look like herself just more glam.  With eyes like these it wasn’t hard to accomplish. Notice the pretty false eyelashes!

Hello my lovelies! I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Facebook has begun to roll-out some major changes in how we interact with each other. First of all, I love that my beautiful “Live Gorgeously!” contestants’ photos appear larger and more stunning on my Wall, and I’m excited to see how the new Timeline feature will appear (in beta testing now).
