Congratulations Emily Tillack: November’s “Live Gorgeously!” Finalist

December 10, 2011

How adorable is this little spitfire? What a great picture! I have to say, I was impressed by Emily’s late-in-the-month sweep of November’s “Live Gorgeously!” Competition. In about three days, she racked up 120 votes winning her choice of either FREE false eyelashes or a FREE spray tan on her wedding day. She’s also entered into the finals round for her chance to win FREE hair and makeup for her and her entire bridal party.

The story of how she met Michael is just as adorable. Originally from Rochester, New York Emily moved to Chicago in the spring of 2007. One day while trying to get to the lobby in the freight elevator, the doors opened and their stood Michael who asked, “Going down?” in his British accent.

Emily was instantly smitten with Michael’s good looks and that British accent! Fate would have it that the two ran into each other in the building’s laundry room later that evening, and then a few days later on the street. Emily gathered the courage to ask the handsome Englishman out.

Four years later on a warm summer evening, Michael proposed to Emily at sunset by the lake overlooking Chicago’s city skyline. They plan to wed at the Ocean Key House Resort in Key West in November 0f 2012 where friends and family from all over the world will join them in celebration!

Congratulations Emily and Michael. I look forward to meeting you both… and Heidi the bulldog!

Sharon | A Key West Beach Wedding

December 5, 2011

Sharon’s smile, warm personality and excitement really strike me when she arrived at the studio to get ready for her Key West Beach wedding.  And THEN, I noticed her GORGEOUS skin and big brown eyes. She sat in my chair, and simply said: “Make me beautiful for my wedding day!” YES!!!!

As you can see Sharon has incredible skin. I very lightly sprayed the airbrush foundation as she truly didn’t much coverage. Lucky girl!   On her eyes I used a combination of earthy colors which included my latest favorite: Embark by Mac and Soba. I applied a gel liner for longevity, that I smudged to soften.  She also wanted false lashes. Can never go wrong with falsies! On her lip (BTW notice her perfect cupid bow, I would love lips like that!) I used a coral pink to suit her warm undertone.

Sharon wanted to wear her hair somewhat up and very soft and beachy. She had some white flowers to accent. Just lovely!

Sharon it was such an honor to have you trust me with your hair and mkaeup on your big day.  I loved meeting you and hope to see you again during your next Key West vacation.XO

Jessica’s Half Up Half Down & Makeup | Ocean Key Resort Bride

December 2, 2011

Jessica’s style was truly unique and eclectic. Everything from her organic hairpiece, studded gown, and wedding theme was out of the ordinary. Hopefully I’ll get my hands on the pro pics soon!

In the meantime here’s a couple of photos of her hair and makeup.

During her trial I created 2 looks as she debated quite a bit between going all the way up or half up half down. One thing was clear: no tight curls!  With hair so long, thick and shiny, I was really hoping she would leave it somewhat down. We were thrilled with her final look!

Beside amazing hair, Jessica’s eyes skin and lips were to die for!  For her makeup she wanted a natural, sophisticated look. But more importantly Jessica wanted  to look like herself.  I call this style of makeup, natural with a touch of drama.

Congratulations Jessica! XO

Celebrating Heather Umberg October’s “Live Gorgeously!” Semi-Finalist

November 29, 2011

Attention my lovelies! In a few days I’ll be announcing November’s “Live Gorgeously!” Semi-Finalist, and then there’s only one month left to join this group of gorgeous girls competing for a chance to win free hair and makeup for their entire bridal party. Every semi-finalist automatically wins her choice of either free false eyelashes or a free spray tan. Then, the finals round will take place the month of January and the grand prize winner will be announced in February!

Now, let’s talk about the beautiful Heather Umberg, our October semi-finalist. You’ve got to love this picture of her and her hubby-to-be Andy posing in front of one of Key West’s famous banyan trees. Heather says the vacation they spent in Key West was one of the best of her life and it’s a big reason why they chose Key West for their destination wedding.

She and Andy met in college seven years ago. Although they had mutual friends, their relationship was something of a “missed connection” while they both were dating other people. Eventually, they both found themselves single and reconnected; this time sparking romance.

Heather was still in college at the time, and Andy had moved away for work. They managed to make e a long-distance relationship work until Heather made the move to Tampa to be with Andy. The two will wed in Key West on April 1, 2012.

Congratulation Heather and Andy! I so look forward to meeting you in April!

A Hint of Vintage for The Lovely Jennifer | Key West Destination Bride

November 25, 2011

I met Jennifer in her room at the charming Tropical Inn. There she was with her mom hanging out. We just had so much fun chatting and playing hair and makeup.

Her dark hair and blue eye contrasted just beautifully.  She reminded  me of a model in one of those French Vintage postcard. Love the final look.

Jennifer’s wanted to wear her hair all the way up and somewhat off to the side. Instead of gathering it up all to one side,  I decided to create of a sweep instead giving it a vintage, very chic feel. The sweep was created with pin curls that were define using a light wax then rolled up and secured. To die for hair flowers finish up the look perfectly.

Jennifer, I immensely enjoyed meeting you and your Mom, our laughter and conversation were wonderful! Wishing you  and your husband joy and happiness for now and forever. XO

How was everyone Thanksgiving?

We spent ours at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. The beds alone make it worth the stay, and I usually only like my own bed. Then if you add the delish food, amazing pool, superb service and very nice fitness you end up with a fantastic experience. Truth is I could live at the Biltmore!

Here’s a few photos of my 2 little girls. I love them so much!

Jasmine loves fountains.

and anything that involves water.

Cutie Serena.

Who loves the camera!

So much to be Thankful for. Have a great day.

Caitlin’s Hair & Makeup | Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel

November 22, 2011

I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun I had being a part of Caitlin’s wedding. All the girls were darling, and by the end of the night I was ready to make myself a bridemaids and rock the night away.

For Caitlin’s makeup we decided to stay within earthy natural tones. Caitlin has big blue eyes and this color choice was simply perfect. Notice the fabulous false eyelashes.

Catlin was torn between wearing her hair all the way up or half up hald down. Truth is, she could have worn her either way and look stunning. But I am thrilled with her final choice.  Timeless and gorgeous!

Congratulations Caitlin! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. XOXO
