Fabulous Mink Eyelashes

May 28, 2008

These eyelashes are all the raged. Their fluttery shape mimic the natural lashes and can be reused many times over. I was contacted earlier by the company that manufactures these. I want them bad, really bad.Almighty Cleanse So before investing in these beauty, let me ask you my future brides and clients: Would you purchase these lashes?.

This information what sent to me directly by the company:

“Aira Cosmetics now offers cruelty-free luxurious mink eyelashes launching in black fur and three lengths. Please your beauty clients with the most glamorous faux eyelashes in the world. Dramatic eyes capture attention and highlight the windows to the soul as they say…Previously mink eyelashes were only being custom made for celebrities. Now all women can enjoy the limelight of wearing truly instant glamour with Aira Signature Mink Lashes.

Aira signature Mink Lashes are enviously thick in appearance yet delicately light and fluttery to wear. Mink has a unique enchanting natural sheen adding a twinkle to the eyes that can not be achieved with lash extensions, human hair lashes, lash builders or the latest mascara. Our glossy mink lashes add instant eye catching allure without the commitment, painstaking time and demanding maintenance of lash extensions. And with opulent fun!
Who wouldn’t want to flaunt the fact that these faux lashes are lush mink fur created without harming animals in any way. So chic and fashionably responsible. Aira Mink Lashes are obtained by gently brushing live farm animals in Denmark and harvested, sterilized and meticulously assembled in Korea. With proper wear and care, these lashes can be worn time and time again. Sold in a jewel box in suede pouch for extended storage and with colorless latex adhesive and application instructions.”

The cost including application: $100 for the short length, $160.00 for the medium length and 250.00 for the long length.

The company is sending me a free sample to try. Laura, the person in charge, said the short ones are the most popular. I will post a soon as I get a chance to play with them. I CAN’T WAIT…. More to come!

Naomi

Milt Huffman Lee was Naomi’s photographer. If you don’t know Milt you’re missing out. He is kind, subdued, helpful, just a joy to be around and his pictures really speaks for themselves.

Naomi was stunning and with a husband that good looking, they made for a gorgeous couple. Milt told me he had a lot of fun shooting them, probably as much as me while doing Naomi’s hair and make-up!

Dita Von Teese

May 25, 2008

Most people who know me, know how much I dislike bubble gum celebrities. In fact I would even go further: I despise Britney, Lindsey, Paris and all the other girls who have absolutely no business being celebrities.

I am more into bad girls, the ones with lots of sass and personality. Madonna, my ultimate girl crush remains on the top of my list but is slowly pushed aside by DITA VON TEESE!
I love that she has style, a style truly her brand. Of course, it comes as no surprise that the queen of Burlesque is also spokes model for MAC Viva Glam lipstick and glosses.

Just in case you were wondering how to create her look: :-)

1. Start by applying your foundation on a well moisturized face, I like Make Up Forever face and body foundation. Follow by a loose translucent powder to achieve a very matte finish. Shu Uemura works great and is perfectly sheer.

2. Apply MAC bare paint all over eyelid, followed by MAC rice paper eyeshadow from your lash line to your brow.

3. Next apply MAC satin taupe eyeshadow to your outer corner then blend it into your crease.

4. Using a liquid or gel eyeliner line the outer half of your upper lash line. I like Shiseido liquid liner in black. Toward the middle try to line as close as possible to your lash line. As you move toward your outer corner thicken the line them “wing” it at the end.

4. Apply false eyelashes then blend lightly with mascara.

5. On your cheek dust MAC Mineralize skinfinish/Natural Medium

6. Line your lips with MAC lip pencil in mahagony followed by Viva Glam VI

Voila!

Ayne

May 21, 2008

Ayne had very classic features, a personality and a smile to die for. She was just gorgeous!
Her hair and airbrush make-up choices were timeless, which only added to her natural beauty.
I enjoy being with her and her Mom tremendously.

I had the pleasure to meet Kristi from Modern Exposure Photo . A young very talented photographer who travels all over the world for weddings. We had fun!

Meet Kelli

May 8, 2008

Kelli was a renaissance bride. Her wedding theme, her dress and hair reflected that era perfectly. I just love her hair piece, a wreath made out of dried flowers. It was so pretty.

Kelly, thank you so much for your kind words and pictures, it was wonderful to meet you!

This is What Appeared in the Sky Yesterday

April 30, 2008

I came out of my yoga class, looked up and something amazing was happening up there… A rainbow like circle was all around the sun!

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the halo is actually a ring of light see through a cloud of ice crystals.

This picture was taken behind my sunglasses with my i phone.

Product That Rocks!

April 22, 2008

A fellow make-up artist was raving on you tube about the Shiseido liquid eyeliner. Doing hair and make-up for brides in Key West, where the weather can be extreme, I’m always on the look out for fabulous products to fill my kit. So here I come Sephora!

This unique refillable eyeliner looks like a pen but is in fact a brush. Fine to bold lines can easily be drawn for sultry, magnificent eyes. No smudging here ladies, that liner won’t move under sweat or tears. I LOVE IT!!!! Try it out , let me know what you think.

Make-Up With Jasmine

April 21, 2008

As most of you know I have two daughters. Jasmine 5 1/2 pictured above, and Serena 3, who refused to pose after our make-up session. “Maybe next time…” She said.

I adore them.

These are girlie girls, and one of their favorite pastime is… can you guess?… MAKE-UP!
Of course being daughters of a make-up artist, they have their very own kit filled with old brushes, diverse samples and products that I no longer use. They spend quite a bit of time transforming themselves with bright colors eye shadows, glitters and, I think their favorite, lip glosses and lipsticks.

The other day I received 2 packages. Jasmine sat there fascinated as I unwrapped all my goodies, I could see her eyes filled with excitement. Then she said: “Remember when you practice your airbrush makeup on me? (how could I forget these wonderful memories!) maybe you could practice again?.” I directed her in front of the light and started dusting her eyes with my brand new shadows, lining her lash line with an amazing Shisiedo liquid liner that I could hardly wait to try. I then applied mascara on her super long lashes and finally coated her pretty pout with the shiniest pink lipgloss I could find. She looked at herself in the mirror, looked back at me and said: ” Oh merci Maman je ressemble a une princesse!” (Thank you Mommy I look like a princess) How great is that!?
