“Like” Me, Love Me, Stay Connected With Me On Facebook

September 25, 2011

Hello my lovelies! I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Facebook has begun to roll-out some major changes in how we interact with each other. First of all, I love that my beautiful “Live Gorgeously!” contestants’ photos appear larger and more stunning on my Wall, and I’m excited to see how the new Timeline feature will appear (in beta testing now). However, another setting has had a negative effect on Rule #1 of the contest: “Like” Studio Marie-Pierre Key West Hair & Makeup’s facebook page.

Semi-Finalist Natalie Brown

Facebook is de-emphasizing the “like” button and it’s no longer a requirement to “like” my page before you vote for a photo posted on my Wall by “liking” it. Lovelies, I want to stay in touch with you and your dear friends! It’s been an amazing journey over the last few months since kicking off this contest. I’m proud of my nearly 4,500 fan base and look forward to widening my circle.

Semi-Finalist Lindsay Sheldon

Social media experts are saying that these Facebook changes will make it that much more important to provide quality content on a fan page. So… what do you get at Studio Marie-Pierre Key West Hair & Makeup? I have to say, I put my heart and soul into my blog and Facebook page by providing up-to-the-minute news and practical tips on all things beautiful for brides-to-be and gorgeous girls everywhere. This includes:

Semi-Finalist Amy Bohaczek

Overall, it’s a friendly, fun community and we welcome all with open arms. For our “Live Gorgeously!” contestants past, present, and future, it’s the best way to catch the exciting yet-to-be-announced finals round and see our winner in January. Remember, EVERYONE who’s entered is still in the running to snag one of four Wild Card Semi-Final Slots, so stay tuned!

Semi-finalist Jennifer Storke

Please, remind your friends to “like” my page before they vote for your gorgeous picture (After all, it’sRule #1  ). It’s been a thrill getting to know everyone who’s entered the contest, as well as their amazingly supportive friends and families. Remember, it’s not too late for YOU to enter the contest. Just post a fun-loving, gorgeous pic to my Wall and get out the vote! Have a gorgeous day and don’t be shy, drop me a line on the wall to say hello or tell me what you’d like to see more of!

Congratulations Jennifer Storke August’s “Live Gorgeously!” Semi-Finalist

September 19, 2011

We first met Jennifer and Matthew in July when she posted this sweet pic to my Facebook Wall. July marked the second month in  a row for fierce competition between two brides-to-be in the “Live Gorgeously!” Facebook Fan Photo Contest. She and July’s winner Amy Bohazcek both racked up over 500 votes with Amy coming out on top in the end. Jennifer persevered and resubmitted an even more stunning photo for August’s race. She swept the competition with no problem and an additional 449 votes. Wow!

Jennifer and Matthew’s tale is one of modern love. “We met on eHarmony.com of all things!” Jennifer told me via email. The two had their first date in October of 2011, and quickly felt the strong connection of true soul mates. Jennifer remembers how shy Matthew was and “his incredible blue eyes.” From there, a whirlwind romance ensued and by December they were already talking marriage and looking at engagement rings! The two live in the Tampa Bay area and in March, they had their first vacation together at a bed & breakfast in St. Augustine. That’s when Matthew made the trip unforgettable by popping the question! The two will marry in March 2012 at the Hemingway House in Key West. It’s safe to say, it’s been a good year for this happy couple!

Jennifer has a strong connection to Key West as she grew up here and attended Sugarloaf Elementary and Middle School. She has fond memories of the Keys and has visited frequently throughout her life, drawn to its beauty and relaxing atmosphere. A fan of Hemingway’s novels, she thinks his historic home in Key West will make for a perfectly “elegant garden party under the stars.” She lost her father when she was 15 before moving away from Key West to Tampa Bay and believes he will be there in spirit.

Jennifer has already won her choice of a free spray tan or a free set of false eyelashes for her big day. She’s in the semi-finals to win the grand prize, which is free hair and makeup for her and her entire bridal party. I think the big question is, will the 500+ Facebook friends who voted for her picture be invited to the wedding?

Jennifer is and absolute doll and I cannot wait to meet her in person, along with Matthew and her friends and family. Congratulations!

Deb’s Hair and Makeup | Key Largo Hilton Wedding

September 16, 2011

Deb was my very first bride back after 6 weeks of European travel.  She had been booked with me for months and I really couldn’t wait meet her!

Turns out we had so much in common.  From living in the Bay area, where I was for 16 years, to the love of fun work outs, it felt like we had known each other for years.  I forgot to mention Deb is a fitness dance instructor in an amazing shape.

On the big day Natalie and I drove up to the Hilton Key Largo for what was going to be a wonderful time.  We got everyone all dolled up while carrying on great conversations. I didn’t want to leave!

So while I await her professional photos here’s a couple of shots I took myself.  I had such a great palette to work on. She gave me creative freedom with the makeup, so of course I suggested false eyelash.  She eagerly embraced the thought.

Her hair was incredible and there was so much of it.  Love the big fat chignon slightly off to the side.
I was in heaven.

I can’t say enough great things about her or her family. Being a part of this was truly a joy!

Wishing you and Jay lots of  love & happiness. NOW and ALWAYS. XO

Rebecca & Jason | Westin Key West Resort | Christy Transier Photography

September 14, 2011

I never got to meet Rebecca, but she was such treat via email!  My wonderful team, Kelly, Shawn R. and Shawn H., were all there on Rebecca’s big day to make everyone gorgeous.  Rebecca looks nothing but stunning!

The ceremony was held on the Westin Pier overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and a splendid Key West Sunset.  Milan Events created all the centerpieces and floral arrangements.  Jimmy from Sound Wave Production kept them dancing the night away, while Simply you Weddings kept an attentive eye on everything making sure it all went without a hitch.  Enjoy the photos courtesy of Christy Tansier

I love these images shot by Meghan from MEC Images and I’m so excited to share them with you all.  Amanda got Kendrick ready for her big day in a private home right in Key West.

The beautiful ceremony took place at  St.Paul’s Episcopal Church downtown Key West. We have stunning churches.

The reception followed at the Westin Pier overlooking our famous sunset.

Cake anyone?

Tili Bags New Collection is Here!

September 2, 2011

I received yesterday the latest collection from Tili the maker of the super chic reusable zip & seal bag. These darling bags are not only practical (everything can pretty much be stored in them) but equally stylish.

I use them in my makeup kit, at home, in my car, in my girl’s playroom. Anywhere where I need to stay organized (and cute) will do.

The new collection has 3 colors and 2 sizes to chose from. I love them all!

The large box contains 9 one gallon tilli bags in 3 unique pattern (3 of each) $8.49
The small Box contains 9 one quart tilli bags in 3 unique pattern (3 of each) $7.49

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

(Even Hoda uses them!)

Go check them out! Oh, and if someone could tell what music is playing in the background of Tili’s groovy website that’ll be great. I tried to Shazam it but no luck there. :sideways:
